Repetition= Results
My guess is that you landed here because you want to make a change in your life. It might be small, it might be big. You may be looking to understand ADHD better, learn skills, maybe practice skills you have learned in therapy, make new friends, or to get out of your comfort zone in a safe environment. Or, you might be wanting something entirely different.
The secret sauce of change is repetition. New patterns of behaviour and thinking solidify with practice. New friendships develop over time. New skills build on top of each other.
This is why I have decided to add 4 week small support groups at the hub. You can think of these as your “mental well being gym” routine so to speak. All you have to do is show up.
What will these groups look like?
4 weeks, same place (online or in-person), same time
same people, minimum of 5, maximum of 10
one facilitated support group topic/theme
one main teaching/strategy takeaway each week
No homework. No information overload. No pressure.
Additional resources always available if requested
5th week free in-person meetup for the online group members who live in Metro Vancouver. This is optional. These will happen at a coffee/ice cream shop in a central location for people on the same day and time that you would normally have your class (unless the group decides on other arrangements).
We know that structure is very helpful for us with ADHD. Think back to the pandemic when almost all of the structure we had in our lives became upended. We also know that feeling understood and accepted feels good.
My challenge for you is to add scheduled ADHD group social support to your life for 4 weeks and see if you find benefit. I believe you will. If you show up for all four classes and are not satisfied I will give you your money back.
