Why are speeches given at awards ceremonies?

To say thank you, because no one does it alone. I believe that no one achieves growth entirely on their own. There is always some person who has supported/influenced you along the way. Be it a parent, a mentor, a friend, or even observing, hearing or reading something that has impacted you in some way.

Supports are important in life, and regardless of how alone someone may think they are, there is always some sort of support out there. When people achieve their hopes and dreams they often reflect on who/what brought them to the point they are at, realizing things once had been very different a short/long time before. They are appreciative.

I feel so strongly that social supports are important and influential in life that I want folks with ADHD to have easy access to them. I personally know the challenges that come with having ADHD, and I know I would not be in the position to create this community group if it were not for the many, many supports in my life. I have good people around me.

Fun fact…before I signed up for my 1st CADDAC ADHD conference I was unsure. Top of mind was, would it be worth the money? I called a dear friend to ask if I should go. She was not attending that year but said she had gone in the past and she felt it would help with what I was looking for, to rid myself of the shame I had been holding onto and increase my personal growth. Without the push and support from her, that life changing experience would have never happened, and the adhd SOCIAL HUB would not have come to be.

When you choose to surround yourself with good people who are positive, kind, understanding, and want to live their very best lives, you can not help but be influenced and motivated.

Who do you spend your time with? Are they people you would thank at an acceptance speech for the growth you have achieved? No one does it alone. Make the choice to surround yourself with good people, join the adhd SOCIAL HUB. We have great people here 💛 We are your group for growth!
